Health Trends in Hawai`i
Health Trends in Hawai`i is one of the HMSA Foundation’s most important projects. Health Trends is unique in that it covers the entire spectrum of subjects relating to health care demographics, health status, the health marketplace, health resource availability and health resource utilization. The Foundation's initial efforts supported a biannual publication as a means of providing objective, reliable health care data in an easy-to-use format for use by businesses, organizations and governmental agencies in making decisions and setting policies.

Data for Health Trends' graphs and charts are contributed by numerous local public and private organizations. Data analysis and production is done locally by Hawai`i Health Information Corporation (HHIC). HHIC, a private, not-for-profit corporation established in 1994, is Hawai`i's leading health care information organization. HHIC's mission is to collect, analyze and disseminate statewide data to support the healthcare community's continuous efforts to improve quality and cost-efficiency. Bringing together experts from key areas of the industry, HHIC has available the expertise of management and medical consultants, physicians, researchers, medical records experts, quality management consultants, health services planners and information systems specialists.

The on-line version of the newest edition of Health Trends is the most complete to date. At the website, you will be able to find the sources of individual graphs and download Microsoft Excel data tables. Go to healthtrends.org
