As senior vice president of Government Policy & Advocacy, Jennifer Diesman works with government leaders on policy initiatives and leads advocacy efforts, community and government relations, corporate giving, and the HMSA Foundation, all to improve the health and well-being of HMSA members. She oversees a team whose scope includes everything from community events to working with State and Federal legislators. Through corporate giving and the Foundation, Jennifer and her team make investments in organizations and nonprofits that address health disparities, access to health, and community-driven health.
An active community member, Jennifer currently serves on the board of Diamond Head Theatre, Family Promise Hawaiʻi, and the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaiʻi. She is board president of the Hawaiʻi Association of Health Plans.
Jennifer has degrees from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and the Robert M. La Follette Institute of Public Affairs.
Jennifer was born in Queens, New York. An exercise enthusiast, she enjoys yoga, running, and spending time in Kapiʻolani Park with her two daughters and husband, Barry.
Jennifer has lived in Hawaiʻi for over 25 years, and has been with HMSA for 22 years.
